Photographer/filmmaker specializing in filmmaking, video editing, camera work, and producing.

About Me

I stole my sister’s camera when I was 14 and there was no looking back. I became obsessed taking pictures of anything and everything—experimenting with ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed, admitttingly taking terrible pictures. I then started yearbook in High School and photography class where I continued my journey into photography.

Photography set the scene of the beginning of my filmmaking. Using the same tools of composition, lighting and focus, I began to make films on my iPhone 4 and iMovie which then progressed into me applying and becoming accepted into the Colorado College Film and Media Program in 2017 where I learned lighting, sound, and cinematography. I learned technical skill along with critical thinking. For 4 years, I analyzed films and found myself specializing in documentary creating and being a part of over 5 short documentaries. I became an expert in Adobe Premiere Pro finding my love in editing and building stories, answering the essential questions: What makes a good story? What stories need to be told? For my thesis, instead of making a film, I decided to do something different. I created an analytical essay of my thought provoking film in my college: Melancholia (von Trier), taking a feminist approach on the end of the world.

I’ve always embraced the journey of learning. Photography and filmmaking has taught me to shed my perfectionism and hold my gratitude, excitement and love of life.

Although my heart is in film and photography, my curiosity has lied in the environment. Because of my love of nature, science, data management, conservation and being outside, I majored in Environmental Science (in addition Film and Media) which took me to Costa Rica studying ornithology and habitat disturbance for my study abroad experience. I have skills in GIS, Excel, Python, Drone Mapping and more. My senior project which tracked air pollution of the pollutant PM2.5 at a local school earned our group an award from Colorado American Planning Association in 2022.

I consider myself an adventurer, someone who enjoys taking a step outside their normal day to day life. Bike packing has fulfilled this yearning for me as I have been able to long term bike trips from San Francisco, CA to Santa Barbara, CA and additionally from Pittsburgh, PA to Washington, DC and more. I have dreams of biking across the country as a journey of filmmaking and photography while observing and understanding the environment around me.

My Process

My original camera I used was Canon Rebel T3i where I learned the basics. This past year in 2023, I finally bought myself a Panasonic Lumix GH6. This camera has both video and photography so it allows me to switch between them. I also occasionally shoot with my DJI Mavic Drone for video and photo.

Film Photography

I also shoot film as well. I have a Canon AE-1 (35mm), a Yashica Mat (120mm), and Pentax AF30 (point and shoot, 35mm). I use Color as well as Black and White but I develop my own Black and White. During COVID, I joined the Black & White Photography group at my college and fell in love with film. I have experience in developing, scanning and printing though my college professors. While moving to DC after college, I joined DC Film Collective (DCFC) to continue my knowledge and experimentation of film photography.
